On 1 & 2 September, the 2nd edition of the Rock n Roll Classics. OMLOOP VAN VLAANDEREN REGULARITY by JBREvents will take place. A unique regularity rally in Roeselare because of the regularity tests that take place on roads closed to other traffic and where the maximum average speed can reach 65 km/h! A regularity rally with an extra touch of sportiness. For those who prefer to take it easy but want to enjoy the motorsport atmosphere with their oldtimer, there is a second category 'REGULARITY50' where the maximum average speed is 50 km/h.
The event will take place simultaneously with the A&D Omloop van Vlaanderen, Belgium's oldest speed rally! This year, the organisation Royal Automobile Club Midden-Vlaanderen is again calling on regularity specialists Bjorn & Jens Vanoverschelde for the sporting & organisational framework of the Rock n Roll Classics. OMLOOP VAN VLAANDEREN REGULARITY. The earlier announcement of the event ensured that the list of participants filled up quickly. Those wishing to cash in on one of the last five available starting places had best register quickly, because full is full!
The course under the microscope
Meanwhile, the organisation is running at full speed and we are eager to put the muscular course (with only 1 regularity test 100% being identical to last year's!) before you in exactly 7 weeks. In anticipation of the starting gun, we would like to take a quick look ahead:
"As you could read in our earlier announcement, we are going to extra refine the first edition both in terms of sports and experience. First of all, we want to emphasise the spirit of regularity driving, much to the delight of the specialists! The route will remain secret for as long as possible, with a few differences between the road book of the speed rally and the regularity category... Routinists will find the ingredients of a 'real' regularity test, with some regularity tests with rhythm changes due to varying average speeds and 2 regularity tests where the rhythm will be determined by an old-fashioned time table. On the other hand, the regularity competition remains an entry-friendly category to tick a participation in the A&D Omloop van Vlaanderen off your buck list or to find driving pleasure with your oldtimer on closed roads."
The route managers of the A&D Omloop van Vlaanderen present a course that meets 'regularity standards': "the route contains many road changes and sufficient variation between technical sections and flowing curve combinations. In addition, the regularity tests follow in quick succession thanks to particularly short connecting routes linking the tests. A sporty race rhythm is guaranteed! The regularity test 'De Zoning' will also be there again this year, where you can compete side-by-side with fellow participants on a 'street circuit'. More than enough ingredients to present an exciting event!" And last but not least... on Friday evening, the 'REGULARITY65' category will already start at dusk to finish in darkness. The magic of rallying 'by night'! On Saturday, the 'REGULARITY50' category joins the caravan."
