The Jasper's Bakeries Agbo Historic stages rally, which continues the same weekend as the Spa rally, was the first round of the Mini Sport cup and Stage Masters Challenge. This popular season opener features ten short tests that were run at Weston park Shropshire in England. The park is a stone's throw from Wales and not that crazy far from the Welsh WRC trials.
The Mini Sport cup brought 22 cars to the start there, proof that this little sports car is very popular across the canal. Fun fact: in this championship, reserved only for Minis, four fathers also compete against their son. John Cressey took home the win in the Minis, but the full spoils within the championship were for runner-up Clive King and co-driver Anton Bird. Both teams made it an exciting battle, but each had their share of bad luck. Ryan Taylor took third place. The Stage Masters Challenge, where all historic cars are welcome, it is mainly the Ford Escort that dictates the law. Winner of the Agbo Stages was Leigh Armstrong with an MK 2, but as with the Minis, it is the runner-up who takes the full points for the championship. Mike Simpson with the MK 1 goes home as leader, second is Simon Crook with an Escort RS 2000 and Stuart Anderson's Vauxhall Chevette is provisionally third.
Both championships host Roeselare during the 60th ConXioN Omloop van Vlaanderen.
