Registrations open 1 June
The organisation of the 62nd Omloop van Vlaanderen is coming up to cruising speed. With the launch of the brand new poster, the promotion, and the final straight line, can begin. Entries will open on Wednesday 1 June. The Omloop van Vlaanderen is the seventh of ten manches of Kroon-Oil Belgian Rallychampionship.

For its 61st edition, the Koninklijke Automobielclub Midden Vlaanderen (KAMV) unpacked a new house style, with a new poster as the showpiece, reinforcing the link with the City of Roeselare. This year, Rumbeke castle graces the poster. This will be the campaign image of the next Omloop and will therefore soon be seen on the streets.
"Our 60 employees, a group in full growth, will be seen on site with the necessary promotional material in the coming weeks. In fact, KAMV provides support at several competitions with an average of 30 employees, ensuring good, smooth and safe running at other competitions," the organisation says.
Trail
As promised, the course will look thoroughly different from last year. The tests Zilverberg, Passendale and even the Zoning will be modified. Passendale will be a ride in line, but will remain a prowler at 16.79km.
Five special stages await on a compact Friday stage, with a further 14 tests on Saturday, good for 190 race kilometres against the clock. The starting gun will be fired at 17:50 on Friday evening. After a short night's sleep, an intensive day awaits. By Saturday evening 6.45pm, after the Power Stage of KP De Ruiter, we will know the winner of Omloop van Vlaanderen.
The Omloop van Vlaanderen also introduces the Tyre Warming Zone, where riders can warm up their tyres before the start of a special stage. The idea comes over from the WRC. Riders used to often warm up their tyres during liaison stages, which is actually not allowed. These new measures increase safety around the course for competitors and spectators.
