This weekend stands out with many participants of the various championships that the 60th ConXioN Omloop van Vlaanderen may host.
Within the Jobfixers BRC championship, Kris Princen is determined to consolidate his leadership position during the second heat that continues in and around Spa. With Cherain, Fernemont, the De Mevius brothers, Snijers, Wagemans, De Cecco, Fumal, father and son Cracco, the favourites cannot be counted on one hand. Joachim Wagemans, who will soon complete the entire TER championship, which also includes our race, will mainly be there to gain rhythm. Unfortunately, a few championship favourites like Verschueren and Bédoret will also skip this race.
Also at Spa the second heat within the Racb Criterium championship. There it is looking forward to a battle for the championship between Johnny Louies, Dany Claesen and Stefaan Tjoens.
In the Netherlands, the Zuiderzee rally is on the programme this weekend as the opener of the Twinoil ONRK. Among the favourites like Kevin van Deijne, Hans Weys jr we can also count Bob de Jong with Belgian co Bjorn Degandt in their Hyundai i20 R5.
More Belgians at work this weekend, but more in southern Europe. There, the Moritz Costa Brava rally in Spain is on the TERH calendar as the opening race. The Belgian delegation will be represented there by Tom Van Rompuy - Jens Vanoverschelde with a BMW M3, Carlo Mylle - Olivier Laporte who, like Frank Blondeel co of Heinz- Walter Schewe, prefer a Porsche 911 as their battle weapon. Lots of buzzing names for this championship with beautiful bolides. It is therefore looking forward to welcoming them to Roeselare.
In Great Britain, the first round of the HRCR Mini sport Cup and Stage Masters gets underway. During the Agbo stages, about 30 of the 46 participants will be getting their championship underway. During the ConXioN Omloop van Vlaanderen, you can watch these fast British old-timers. These participants will soon cross the lake towards Roeselare in large numbers.
